RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 SP4 Released

RSA, The Security Division of EMC, announces Service Pack 4 for RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 and RSA SecurID Appliance 3.0.

Summary:

Service Pack 4 (SP4) is a significant service pack release that includes features, enhancements, and bug fixes that improve the stability, usability, and uptime of the RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 system. SP4 includes hot fixes and rollups for over 300 bugs and over 30 new improvements that can ease the task of overall system administration. RSA strongly recommends that customers using earlier versions of RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 upgrade to RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 Service Pack 4.

Platforms:

SP4 is available for download today for both RSA Authentication Manager (software) and RSA SecurID Appliance 3.0. Platforms include:

  • Windows Server 2003 R2 (32-bit and 64-bit) Standard and Enterprise
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES/AS 4.7 (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Solaris 10
  • VMware ESX 3.5 and VMware ESX 4.0 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7 (32-bit and 64-bit) and Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 SP2 (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • RSA SecurID Appliance

 

Description:

RSA has focused on these five areas for improvement in SP4. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Improve authentication availability
  • Improved database replication operation and reliability
  • Minimize maintenance windows
  • Streamlined replica promotion process
  • New Restore Point during install for easy rollback to the previous version (SP2 or SP3)
  • An easy upgrade path from SP2 to SP4 or SP3 to SP4
  • Utilize external identity sources to meet organizational management and compliance needs
  • One-click disabling of users
  • Support for Microsoft Active Directory 2008 R2 and Sun Directory Server 7.0
  • Unique identifiers that enhance the ability to track users as they move between and within identity sources
  • Improved automatic clean-up of users
  • New manual clean-up capability
  • Local group in the internal database holding external users
  • Leverage existing SMS infrastructure in your network
  • New SMS HTTP plug-in feature to more readily support alternative SMS carriers, in addition to Clickatell
  • Incorporated hot fixes and rollups for over 300 bugs to improve overall system stability and product performance

Recommendation:

RSA recommends that customers using previous versions of RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 and RSA SecurID Appliance 3.0, including SP3, upgrade to Service Pack 4 at their earliest possible convenience to ensure they have the latest bug fixes. Customers must have either RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 SP2 or SP3 or RSA SecurID Appliance 3.0 SP2 or SP3 before they can upgrade to SP4.
